SOCIETY

Okhta Group puts into practice a philosophy that is founded on conceptions of the city as man’s living environment. The company adheres to the principles of stable development and social responsibility. This approach is reflected in every aspect of the company’s daily work – a desire to improve the health and well-being of the nation and the spiritual development of society at large is given form in specific works.

Okhta Group establishes partner relations with the city’s authorities and inhabitants both through one-off events, by carrying out its own cultural projects and programs, and through long-term collaborations with organizations that have established reputations and high levels of professionalism.
Okhta Group pays a great deal of attention to charitable activities aimed at supporting St. Petersburg’s culture and preserving the city’s traditions, as well as projects focusing on children and youths. Priority areas in the company’s social activities include:

Support to deprived children and children from underprivileged groups
Preservation of historical heritage and educational activities
In September, 2011, within the framework of preservation of historical heritage and educational activities the Petrozavodsk Industrial History Gallery was opened, initiated and financially supported by Okhta Group. The foundation for the creation of this gallery was formed from the Onega Tractor Plant Museum and the Avangard Shipbuilding Yard Museum.

The Petrozavodsk Industrial History Gallery is located in the city center, on a historic site, within the territory of the former Alexandrovsky factory, later the Onega Tractor Plant. The main concept underlying the museum is to preserve everything of value that remains of the oldest industrial factory in the town and to complement this historic site with more modern, hands-on exhibits, which are designed for a tactile experience of interaction with the mechanisms and technical objects. This involves visitors coming into direct contact with the exhibits – the latter can and should be touched by hands.

The Gallery actively cooperates with the city’s educational institutions and holds tours for schoolchildren and students from a variety of institutions. Family visits are also an important part in the gallery’s work.
